Verified Reviewer |Manager at 100 DEABUAUN Loop, Chesapeake, VA

The manager, or GM, Shakira T, was extremely rude when I came to the store to pick up a DoorDash order. I suspect she might be involved in drug use because her behavior was erratic.
The right-side door was locked so we used the drive-through at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21, and she was extremely rude. Despite our civil greeting, she responded rudely. The drive-through was empty, as was the store, yet she instructed us to use another door and questioned our thought process. I asked her for her name - she identified herself as Shakira T.
The DoorDash order I had was for a gentleman named Eric T. She confirmed the order was ready but refused to give it to me because I asked for her name, telling me to get out of the store. She also said someone else would pick it up. She then told an African-American male associate not to give me the order and walked off to the back of the restaurant with her food.
I've never been disrespected like this in my life. As a God-loving person who moved from California, originally from North Carolina, I've never eaten at a Popeyes before. But after this incident, I don't think I ever will. It was undeniably the most 'ratchet' experience I've had.
This occurred at the Popeyes located at 100 Deabun Loop in Chesapeake, Virginia. Please, I implore you, avoid this restaurant - Shakira T was unnecessarily aggressive.
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: if the manager or GM black lady named Shakira T, that’s what the name she gave me is working please do not go because it’ll make you act the way she acted and she was unprofessional and didn’t care about any money

Verified Reviewer |Have been to Popeye's Store #14567 3 times and each time the order is wrong.
Have been to Popeye's Store #14567, 4800 West Broad, Richmond VA 3 times and each time the order is wrong. This latest time I ordered 3 Chicken Bacon sandwiches, 2 without mayo or pickles.
What I got was 3 plain Chicken Bacon sandwiches and no cheese on any of them. This particular Popeyes has been around for about a year or so, but hardly see anyone going there. Wonder how that could have happened?
For starters, I walk into the dining room with someone mopping the entire floor with a very wet mop. This is happening during Monday night dinner at around 6:20 p.m.
I slipped on the floor twice although I was walking very carefully and the manager on duty told me to "Be careful". I reminded him I was being careful, but was still slipping on their floor which appeared not to be dirty to begin with. Why is there someone mopping a floor improperly during dinner rush? What a bad idea.
Surely "Wet floor" signs will not relinquish your legal liability against someone hurting themselves due to negligent actions on your part.
Next I go to place order and each time I order an item the cashier interrupts me to ask "Is that all?" This goes on 3 or 4 times ad nauseam and believe it or not he got the order completely correct. He did hand me 3 cups for soda instead of 2 and not really a problem, but shows the employees on hand aren't paying attention to what they are doing.
Also noticed there are items missing on the menu. Why this is the case I do not know.
After receiving food I was asked if I wanted any sauces, but was told the sauces for to go orders aren't necessarily on the menu? Took a guess, but guessed wrong and the associate disappeared into the back to get sauces and then has to go into the back again to get a tray for the drinks I got.
Doesn't anybody stock the shelves anymore before the dinner rush?
Keep in mind I am the only customer in the dinning room with perhaps one car in the drive through. I did notice employees disappearing into the back for some unknown reason. What is going on back there? Is there a roulette wheel for gambling.
If there is, I would like to be part of that since I'm already taking a gamble on Popeyes and have come up short 3 times.
On my way out I slipped on the floor again, and of course, I did not fall, but still ...
Lastly, I'd like to know who the "Brainiac" was who thought it was a good idea not to have a large Popeyes sign that faces perpendicular to the street. All other places along that road has one and that includes the other Popeyes about 3 miles from this location which happens to be a completely different experience. That store located on Chamberlayne Avenue seems to be always busy. They serve it up pretty quick too.
It would seem to me that a new store should have its strongest management and associates working there to ensure the greatest chance of success. That does not seem to be the case for store #14567. There are lots of restaurants and chicken places in Richmond, VA. The competition is pretty high.
One such place is Lee's Chicken around the 2200 block of Broad Street. Have been going there for about 30 years and never had a bad meal. They may have gotten the sides mixed up a handful of times, but we are talking 30 years. I made a mistake not going to them, but wanted to try something different.
Unless Popeyes can entice me to trying them again I will never come back. That is too bad since I think the food is good and the people were nice enough and of course, the place was clean.
Are you sure you don't need better people in marketing and quality control. I have left my email address in case you would like to discuss.

Verified Reviewer |Complaint - Charlotte NC
To whom it may concern:
I went to the Popeyes drive-thru on 1729 Sardis Rd N, Charlotte, NC 28270 (Galleria Blvd) and was told to come inside because they weren't taking orders at the drive-thru. When I went in, I saw a baseball team that had just finished ordering, and I realized why they directed us inside—there were only two employees working. I completely understood and was fine with waiting.
I ordered two chicken sandwiches, one spicy sandwich (requested without pickles, but all had pickles), a Ghost Pepper sandwich, a three-piece chicken meal with mac and cheese, and large Cajun fries. I waited exactly 55 minutes inside the lobby before receiving my food. When I got home, I realized the Ghost Pepper sandwich was missing, and instead of a three-piece meal, I was given chicken strips with a barely filled mac and cheese. I also wasn't given a receipt.
I called the store, but in the middle of explaining my issue, the manager hung up on me. I called back three times, and he didn't answer. On the fourth call, he finally picked up, but he was extremely rude and dismissive. He didn't care that I had waited 55 minutes with three kids. When I asked for the contact information of someone above him, he gave me a non-working number (980-307-****, supposedly for Tracy). At that point, I realized he had deliberately given me false information.
He said his name was TJ, but I doubt that's even true. Is this the kind of treatment Popeyes offers? He was not only rude to me but also made comments to a baseball coach who had returned his shrimp meal because it was undercooked and cold. How does someone like this even get a manager position?

Verified ReviewerPopeyes on coffee road in Modesto CA customer service is horrible
To whom it may concern,
I'm taking my time to write this because I'm genuinely disappointed in this specific Popeyes Chicken on Coffee Road. Today is 02/18/25, at 7:23 p.m., order #79, and I ordered online to pick up, hoping my food would be ready. My app told me that it would be ready by 6:30 p.m., and I waited till 7. Not only did I have to wait, but I also saw people in the drive-thru getting their food before I did, and they had much larger orders. When I got my food, the order was short of a 6 pc lemon pepper wings, and the spicy chicken sandwich was all over the bag. They threw my two orders of fries directly into the to-go bag, scattering them all over the place. Keep in mind, I live across town and wanted to call them to replace my order the next time I drove by there. Sure enough, I called them five times, and they don't have an answering machine and it goes straight to a busy tone after a few rings. This place represents a significant disappointment in customer service, and I highly recommend anyone who likes Popeyes, to go to another location. This is not the first or the second time this has happened to me, and I'm finally throwing in the towel at this place. I'm done eating here until they change the management to improve this place. As a customer, we all should know that customer service is paramount, and this place has one of the worst services I've ever dealt with, and California raised fast food wages for these employees just to consistently disrespect us. We work hard for our money, and fast food nowadays isn't cheap. So please Popeyes, do something about this and let us enjoy a meal from time to time.
P.S. I called again, and the Manager, Eva, laughed at me for asking to compensate me for the wrong order as I live across town. She mocked me and hung up for asking to convert my missing order into a meal. I'm very disappointed that I can't have a conventional conversation as a customer with a Manager.
Thanks,
Michael Vu
- Great chicken
- Bad culture
- Poor customer service
- Serving old food sometimes
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Expect to have your order to be wrong. The manager Eva said, "we are human and will continue to make mistakes". That is not acceptable hearing that from a Popeyes manager

Verified Reviewer |*** service and not getting what I ordered
I ordered two chicken sandwiches, one spicy one, two large fries, and they usually come in a big box, and two mango lemonades. When I got my food, the girl handed me the lemonades first and one of the lids fell off.
Half of the lemonade spilled into my lap. I made her refill it, and I cleaned myself up. When I got my food, I noticed there were not two large fries. I asked, 'Where is the rest of the food?' They responded, 'You got what you ordered.' I replied, 'No, I did not.
I ordered two large fries.' She looked back at the order and said, 'Well, I put in a small fry and a large fry.' I retorted, 'That's not what you read back to me. I ordered two chicken sandwiches, one spicy, two large fries, and two mango lemonades. That's what you read back to me. So, I am supposed to take whatever you put in and pay for it, even when it's your mix-up.
Why should I have to pay for a large fry again when I ordered it right the first time? I am not paying for a large fry. If you didn't enter it correctly, you knew I ordered large fries and you still entered the wrong information. Are you telling me I have to come in there and enter my own order?' They continued to argue for 30 minutes, so all of my food was cold.
They ended up threatening to call the police. I called the authorities to see if I was in the wrong. They told me: it's not a public matter, I had to deal with the corporate. I had them call the manager and was supposed to call back this morning, but I couldn't get a hold of her.
Instead, they gave me a small portion of fries and said, 'Here are your large fries, now get out of our driveway, or else I will call the cops.' I said that's terrible service and was not leaving until I get a full large fry. Then I noticed that they had called the police, and three sheriffs showed up. I don't know what they told the police, but that is pretty alarming. I didn't get my money back.
They offered to give me my money back, but we paid with a credit card, and I wasn't going to return the food to have them serve it to someone else. Despite them saying the refund would go back on the credit card, considering I live 100 miles away from the store and had a terrible experience, I will probably never return to that store again.
User's recommendation: My recommendation is to go to a different location and not ever go to the store again because they have poor manager service poor employee service, and do not know how to treat their customers and they cannot take an order right to begin with

Verified Reviewer |Overcharged. Manager hung up in my ear and was very rude
I got two three-piece chicken tenders with fried pickles two strawberry biscuits and two drinks. My bill was 3898.
Im sure that the way this was rung up as the reason that I was charged almost $20 each for three piece chicken strips a strawberry biscuit and a drink. I called the store. The manager was rude. I tried to explain to her that I was not mad I was just trying to get this situation fixed because I couldve went to a steakhouse for a $20 plate and she was not having it.
She hung up in my ear. I do not appreciate this and on top of it. I didnt even get ranch dressing that I had requested the fried pickles wouldnt even But half full in the container.
I need this resolved. I dont mind paying for two three-piece tenders, but not $20 each thank you.

I ordered a family box that was $20. It said in the store they charged me $22.
I ordered four mac and cheese, and then they said one regular mac for $3.99. Then, I ordered two strawberry biscuits for $2.99, which came to $28.98.
I didn't get the regular macaroni cheese, or my two strawberry biscuits, and a chicken one. All that is not great.

Verified Reviewer |Terrible service, Dirty kitchen, False advertising
Hello. We went to the Popeyes in the Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas on 3/29/25 around 8:30 p.m.
They were out of most things, did not have chicken for a meal, only enough sides for a small, and ran out of regular wings. We ordered a combo and were told after we paid and got the food that biscuits were not included. We asked for two biscuits, but the manager said no. We were also refused sauce.
The manager was very rude. To begin, the cashier did not know how to take our order and seemed very inebriated. It took someone else to come help take our order. After the assistant tried to help us and we agreed on an order, it was then that the manager came up and said no to what we ordered—after we paid.
By this time (it took a while to order since they were out of many items), the line was long and we were rushed off. On top of the shoddy service, the lack of food items, and false advertising, food and trash littered the floor. Choices were limited for us, or we would have gone elsewhere. We expected more from Popeyes for the $42.78 that we paid for 24 wings and two small sides.
Someone needs to know what is happening at this location and hopefully fix it.
The manager seemed to delight in saying no because he could and was not interested in hearing our concerns. We don’t want others to experience this level of dissatisfaction.

- Dirty
- Misleading

It’s always funny when someone describes themselves as God-loving and characterizes their behavior as civil, yet uses terms like ratchet and accuses others of being on drugs. Not very civil or Christian-like of you.
Why? You think Christians can't tell the truth about someone?
They are suppose to be demure all the time, just because they are Christian? I consider you thinking THAT to be what's funny.
Tell the truth about someone? OP is making assumptions and has no proof. Worse, they are putting those unfounded assumptions out for everyone to see.
And Christian people don't do that. They don't make up lies. I'm sure if anyone was high it was the OP.
The manager needs to see this and sue them.
They're saying don't bring religion in the complaint. You're being Christian has nothing to do with the complaint.
Christian people don't lie. The child has no proof that she is using.
The child that posted this is a little liar. Not Christian at all.
They are immature. Besides being Christian has nothing to do with this complaint.
Yeah
This person is not Christian or God loving. Christians don't lie.
They have no proof of the employee being high. The OP is childish and a liar.
I agree, does not the bible say do not judge and do not falsely testify against the neighbor. What a hypocrite.
