no, no one has contacted me from Popeyes I guess because she’s the GM I hear

Original review Dec 22, 2024
The manager, or GM, Shakira T, was extremely rude when I came to the store to pick up a DoorDash order. I suspect she might be involved in drug use because her behavior was erratic.

The right-side door was locked so we used the drive-through at 11 AM on Saturday, December 21, and she was extremely rude. Despite our civil greeting, she responded rudely. The drive-through was empty, as was the store, yet she instructed us to use another door and questioned our thought process. I asked her for her name - she identified herself as Shakira T.

The DoorDash order I had was for a gentleman named Eric T. She confirmed the order was ready but refused to give it to me because I asked for her name, telling me to get out of the store. She also said someone else would pick it up. She then told an African-American male associate not to give me the order and walked off to the back of the restaurant with her food.

I've never been disrespected like this in my life. As a God-loving person who moved from California, originally from North Carolina, I've never eaten at a Popeyes before. But after this incident, I don't think I ever will. It was undeniably the most 'ratchet' experience I've had.

This occurred at the Popeyes located at 100 Deabun Loop in Chesapeake, Virginia. Please, I implore you, avoid this restaurant - Shakira T was unnecessarily aggressive.

Your comments are erratic. Maybe you are on something.

As a Christian, you should not make such claims without proof. Kind of childish of you to make this claim because you did not get what you wanted.

Guest

Quit insulting this restaurant food chain. They did nothing wrong at all.

Guest

It’s always funny when someone describes themselves as God-loving and characterizes their behavior as civil, yet uses terms like ratchet and accuses others of being on drugs. Not very civil or Christian-like of you.

They are suppose to be demure all the time, just because they are Christian? I consider you thinking THAT to be what's funny.

Tell the truth about someone? OP is making assumptions and has no proof. Worse, they are putting those unfounded assumptions out for everyone to see.

I went to the Popeyes store #11295 in [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA], [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA], on Sunday, May 10th. I ordered the 10 piece with 2 large sides.

I asked for dark meat. It was mixed. The sides I got were regular. The chicken was not very presentable.

Some burnt pieces were not very tasty. I found this out after I got home. It was to go. I called the store to let Destiny, the employee who waited on me, know the sides weren't right.

I found out as I opened the chicken that it wasn't very fit to eat. It was $26.35. I also waited in line for a long time, and they weren't busy. No excuse.

The kitchen crew looked to be distracted instead of cooking the chicken correctly. The grease was obviously very dirty. This trip to [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA] was a bad one. I want corporate to know how this store operates.

I've been to this location before, and this is totally unacceptable. The sorry service I got. I hope a lot of people see this complaint. A person needs to inspect the order before leaving the restaurant to save money and time.

[PERSON_NAME] really sucked on Mother's Day! Sorry, damn service!

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - IPhone stolen at their premises, suspicious activity
Updated by user Jan 17, 2026

Try fixing the issue, it would it been as easy as helping me find my phone or even getting me a replacement

Original review Jan 02, 2026
My phone was stolen inside the Popeyes at 6384 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90028 during a very narrow, clearly defined timeframe while I was waiting for my order. I had the phone in my pocket, and shortly after, I noticed it was gone.
After I left, I used Apple's "Find My" from my computer, and the phone continued showing at this exact location during hours of operation, with frequent location updates.

The phone also showed as powered off shortly after it went missing. I did not power it off.
This phone is an essential tool for my work, and its loss directly impacts my ability to earn income.
Security cameras are present in the restaurant. I requested that the footage be reviewed or preserved to help identify what happened. The store manager refused to review or preserve the footage, despite the clear timeframe and the time-sensitive nature of the situation.

I was told the footage would not be checked because they needed to protect the business.
I documented everything and filed a police report.

The refusal to cooperate or preserve footage materially harmed my ability to recover stolen property that went missing on their premises.
This is a serious safety and accountability concern. I expected basic cooperation in a situation involving theft, but unfortunately received none.
Loss:
$1477

Preferred solution: Help in getting my phone back

User's recommendation: Remember they wont protect you or help you when you need them.

How strange the manager would not release the footage from their security cameras. My daughter had her phone stolen on her birthday a year ago when she was at the Walmart checkout, she laid her phone down on the little shelf by the card reader.

The gentleman behind her Nonchalantly grabbed her phone, slide it in his pocket when she wasn’t looking while she was grabbing her bags and placing them in the cart. Later, when the police arrived and mind you, this was hours later that we waited for the police they were able to view the security footage and clearly see this young man taking her phone and putting it in his pocket. The police officer showed us a picture of the young man in the act from the live footage. We only saw the snapshot that the officer presented to us.

He was the only person allowed in the security office to view the actual live-footage. I would think you could get the police to view the security footage without any problems. Maybe the managers problem was he did not want to release it to you or have you viewing it. I was able to recover my daughter cell phone two days later when I ventured back to this city while pinging her phone and it last known location.

I took it upon myself to go door-to-door looking for this person that I had seen in the photo. I approached the situation at each house, as if I knew this person was there and in that the person I was looking for was the person that had stolen my daughter‘s phone. At the last house, I approached the door. A young man answered, and started spilling his guts about this guy that had been staying at his house that he knew had taken her phone.

I asked his name and it was redeemed. Following that I called the police. The officer came to the house. Spoke to the homeowner gathered a bunch of information about the assailant.

It wasn’t until I looked him up on Facebook and sent a polite, but to the point message that he needed to return my daughter’s phone or he would be treated as a “criminal“ and charges would be pressed if the phone wasn’t returned by 5 PM. He never showed his face, but conveniently had the homeowner return the phone to us. I called the police again. Requested the officer meet us at the house again to obtain the phone at that time.

The young man was later picked up and charged. I gather he had priors and was on probation, as a result is now serving 2 years in prison and has to pay restitution for her phone as it was damaged and she already had purchased a new one the very next day after it was stolen. Like you she needed it for work.

This young man underestimated the Mama bear had NO intention of accepting the fact that someone had stole it and needed to return it and I would not stop until I retrieved my daughter’s phone! All is well that ends well….

Improper food handling, more importantly, confrontational superior/manager

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Money touched before food; bare hands, no gloves or washing.
  • Manager refused to discard mishandled food and dismissed concerns.

I and a friend visited Popeyes @ 2340 S Cooper St. on Tuesday afternoon, approximately 12 p.m.

While standing inside waiting, a young lady worker was observed handling money up front and right after, proceeded to the back to prepare food/food orders. She failed to put on gloves before handling food, nor did she wash her hands (gloves would've certainly been more ideal, of course). She grabbed a handful of shrimp to drop in the basket with the same naked hands that she just handled money etc. with!

Upon seeing this, my friend attempted to get the attention of the manager on duty in order to bring it to his attention before the now contaminated shrimp is served to anyone, and he (the manager) turns around and his very rude response is, 'Can't you see I'm busy?!' We continued to try and get him to understand the need for his attention and he continuously, rudely ignored us. Once he decided to finally approach the counter to hear inquiries, his response was just as disgusting as the young lady's hands and the shrimp she handled with them! He refused to show any empathy, concern, or urgency to anything that was being said, and it pretty much confirmed that this isn't an issue to him and probably being done on a regular basis with no reprimanding of the employees. We are buying food that goes in our mouths; you absolutely do not get to handle this situation in the manner that you did, like we don't matter and like proper food handling doesn't matter!

His response was so distasteful. I've never seen anything like it from a 'manager.' He refused to listen and when he finally partially listened, he refused to properly correct the situation. His response to his customer was, 'People make mistakes' (after he was told that there is improper food handling taking place at your place of business). While this is true, said mistake could possibly cost someone their health and, God forbid, their life.

The simple and only ask was to discard the mishandled food and have the employee reprimanded and corrected. He refused this as well, stating that he isn't going to do that. Why not? You don't care apparently.

It can't/shouldn't be served at this point; it's no good for your customers. He would/did not show any interest whatsoever in correcting this situation. Apologizing? Nothing.

What he did care about instead was arguing with his customer (the conversation/interaction was definitely recorded, which recording started after he turned around and snapped, yelling that he was busy). He never yelled at us from beginning to end, just simply trying to get him to understand that what she’s doing is highly unsanitary. He never addressed the situation at hand at all, but what he did do was throw insults and attacks, stating that my friend doesn't have to eat there (or something of the sort) and that he can just get his money back. What?

Missed everything important and this is your result? Smdh! Unbelievable, just totally unbelievable how rude and ignorant this guy was. When asked for his name (because this 'manager' didn't have on a name tag.

Go figure). He stated, 'I'm not giving you my name.' Again, this full insane interaction has been recorded. Can't make it up and still can't believe that he thought it okay to act out the way he did, simply because someone is reporting to you unhealthy practices that took place right in front of us and you attack your customer. I live not far from this location, so it's my go-to when I want Popeyes and work for the 2nd largest bank (sometimes down the street.

Again, often is the lunchtime move) in the US (at the 1st largest before coming to this one), so I know customer service and how to speak to people. My friend owns a food truck and knows customer service and how to speak to people, also proper food handling (anybody with any common sense knows handling food after money is a no-no, but apparently not), when you're asking someone to put this food in our mouths and taking our money. Just an absolute, overall disgusting experience on Tuesday, to never be forgotten. Needless to say, we won't be patronizing this location, probably Popeyes at all again, behind this.

No excuse for his actions. There was no confrontation directed toward any of the employees or the manager, but a verbal attack and argument witnessed and initiated by a superior anyhow is outrageous. Definitely understood why this young lady dropping food in the fryer with dirty hands doesn't know any better. I don't know how this guy got the position he holds, but he certainly doesn't deserve it.

No more quick lunch orders from my work team and me. We'll find somewhere else to eat that cares about their customers' well-being, health, and concerns. To anyone that reads this, if you choose to patronize this business location, do not go through the drive-thru. Get out and go inside, so you can see and make sure that your food's handled appropriately and aren't sick after eating there, and definitely don't address or look for the help of this rude, no-name 'manager.' He himself needs to be reprimanded before you lose all of your loyal customers.

Because I just know that this wasn't a one-off situation.

It's who he is. Totally unacceptable.

Loss:
$11

Preferred solution: Whatever the manager's name is, does not deserve to be in that position if unable to properly lead. Our health is at risk, otherwise. An apology would also be nice, if it came directly from HIM

User's recommendation: Watch them make your food, if possible, go inside or better yet, I'd say choose a different location.

  • Door locked during open hours; inside pickup denied for a deaf customer.
  • Order delayed; not ready by pickup time; drive-thru used instead.

Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen, Inc.

5707 Blue Lagoon Dr

Miami, FL 33126-****

Dear Headquarters,

It's important to have a right to report a complaint about my bad experience yesterday; it was on 02/17/2026 at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located at 1878 Warrensville Center Road, South Euclid, OH 44121.

I am a deaf customer, Sonya Mangham. I ordered on my smartphone using the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen app online at 6:05 pm; they said it would be ready in less than 15 minutes. Whenever my order was ready to pick up, unfortunately, they didn't let me enter inside after 6:20 pm. I saw the front door posted with location hours from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm; it is not their authorization. This franchise decision not to allow me or anyone to come in to pick up the order is sometimes unacceptable, as their young employees forced me to go through the drive-thru all due to not being able to hear or talk over audio. It is discrimination. It is not their consideration to be careful with that policy and to acknowledge how to respect my accommodations. It would not be hard to pick my order up inside and then leave because I paid for that order and expected to be valued and cooperated with.

I saw two young black ladies sitting and eating Popeyes food, keeping the door locked through the window with their bad attitude; how inappropriate this terrible behavior is and how they did not pay attention to me. I have been waiting a long time, less than one hour and a half. This is terrible service, and none of it is friendly or respectful. Those young employees neglected me, which is all important for communication that I ordered there. What a shameful display from them.

I did approach the drive-thru, and the young black man in his 20s at cashier number one in the window and told him that I ordered to see if my food was ready. What a disappointment because they didn't have my order ready; it had been delayed. None of that is acceptable; it's shamefully terrible! The young black man at cashier number one asked me to move to the corner to wait for someone to give me the order. I had waited forever to see everyone get their orders from the drive-thru pass me more than 12 times; what a shameful act of neglect towards me, an invisible customer.

More than 45 minutes later, if those Popeyes young employees didn't come on time to give me the order, then I had to quickly call the police to help me get my order; it would help facilitate cooperation from them. My child, a deaf adult, was assisting me to tell them consistently where my mom's order was, and they neglected him once I did stop and knock on the door, and they continued neglecting me. This is terrible; their conduct is inappropriate. My child told them if they didn't give his mother her order on time, she would quickly call the police, and a few moments later, they gave me the order before the police arrived.

I explained to the police about all of this terrible situation, and they recommended I contact you at headquarters to cooperate about this bad service and my experience with South Euclid Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on 02/17/2026. I saw everyone complaining and wanting to go inside, but the door was locked during open hours; none of that should happen. It is so shamefully embarrassing.

I saw the manager or assistant manager sitting with food, and she saw me conversing with the police and prepared to approach and fight with me because she was upset that I was the one who called the police on them. I had to do this because they refused to cooperate with me to get my order, and it would not be hard for them at all. Why keep the door closed and not allow anyone to come in? The only way to pick up the order is not hard for them with my accommodations being deaf, and it is important for them to respect that.

Those people working at South Euclid Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Ohio should be trained to follow instructions and know the rules, but they broke them illegally, which is wrong! None of this should ever happen again; the service at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, 1878 Warrensville Center Road, South Euclid, OH 44121 is getting worse.

Regards,

Sonya Mangham

It’s not the customer fault. Go to the Better Business Bureau!! Not all of the Popeye restaurants are at Fault.

How is it discrimination if you ordered through the app and never set foot in the store (as no one else did either)? How would they know you were deaf? And you’re horrible for wasting the police’s time.

This was my first visit and my LAST!!

The food is subpar to say the least. DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY I PAID!!!

No utensils or napkins in my online order.

I got the surf n turf combo and the best value was the drink I up sized. The side of rice n beans is maybe a half cup. The so-called chicken "tenders" were nothing more than overly battered shreds. The not so "butterflied" shrimp were the smallest little nuggets deep fried WITH THE TAILS ON!!!

WTH?!? And topped off with a dry biscuit...all was barely warm and I LITERALLY live across the street, so no reason things shouldn't be fresh and hot with ONLY 2 people in the drive thru.

I WANT A REFUND!!!

I was hoping to post the pics I took for corporate... I'm very disappointed this isn't an option.

Don’t bother, nobody cares l’ll never get the money I was overcharged back. And this site is useless & wasting my time.

Original review Apr 16, 2026

Overcharged and have not been compensated. The manager wants me to come in person to be refunded the difference in price, but I should be fully compensated for the entire bill of $1,472.

I have no transportation and thus cannot go to that particular Popeyes.

Any compensation or refund will have to be emailed to me or mailed. Thank you.

You need more than pictures if you want a refund. You need to take the food back since you need to be in-store for any refund.

Over charged

AI Highlights
  • Charged $9.95 for a $5 Faves chicken sandwich; promotion not honored.
  • Supervisor was hostile; manager asks in-person refund of the difference.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Over charged

The bill is completely wrong, I ordered the $5.00 chicken sandwich on promotion ($5 Faves) & was charged $9.95. Supervisor was very hostile & combative.

Manager wants me to come in person to be refunded the difference in price which is not sufficient for the mental abuse Ive endured, my time & travel expenses. I should be compensated the bill in its entirety of $14.72

User's recommendation: Pompey’s will overcharge you & verbally harass you.
